October 2024 - Teddy Bear Run

This year’s Teddy Bear Ride was a stunning success, uniting motorcycle riders, families, and supporters to stand with child abuse survivors. Riders delivered hundreds of teddy bears to kids in need, spreading hope and comfort. With live music, delicious food, and engaging activities, the event truly showcased community spirit and the mission of Foster Friends to enrich the lives of foster children in Collin County.

Foster Friends participates in National Adoption Day each year by donating the food, special gifts for the adopting parents and providing entertainment to celebrate the children being adopted and getting forever homes! View the photos of the event, with with the Judges and our County Commissioner Susan Fletcher with the BEAR that Foster Friends provided.

Foster Friends was honored to be named this year's Collin County recipient of the " Surprise and Delight " award from the Communities Foundation of Texas, along with co-sponsor Amazon after being nominated by our State Representative Matt Shaheen who participated in the festivities! More than 15 people showed up in a van, carrying the big check, with pompoms, along with representatives from both the Communities Foundation and Amazon!

View photos and a video from our county-wide shoe drive with donations from the First National Bank of Omaha, Rotary clubs, churches, individuals, and cities. Volunteers at the event helped us sort through more than 600 pairs of shoes!

Frisco Rotary club hosts a shoe and donation drive to collect shoes for the annual "back to school shoe fair" held at the Children's Advocacy Center.

Our board installs signs as well as over 100 pinwheels at the Collin County courthouse to bring awareness to "Child Abuse Prevention month".

We were recognized by several City Councils and their Mayors in April, where they presented Foster Friends with Proclamations.
